Aromatherapy

One of the most effective uses of essential oils is in aromatherapy massage. You will already be familiar with names of some essential oils, such as Lemon, Sandalwood and Lavender, but other less familiar oils like Bergamot, Neroli, Patchouli and many others also have a place in aromatherapy. Used in a carrier such as sweet almond oil the massage develops the therapeutic effect of the combined oils, which act not only on the body systems but also on the nervous system, affecting the emotions and the psyche. During an aromatherapy massage, various hands-on techniques are used by for your physical and psychological benefit which may include: -

  • Improved circulation to muscles, reducing inflammation and pain
  • Deep relaxation, relieving mental and physical fatigue
  • Improvement of mobility and promotion of correct posture
  • Release of chronic back and shoulder tension, and backache
  • Easing of neuralgia, arthritis and rheumatism
  • Improved digestion and the relief of constipation
  • Stimulation and drainage of the lymphatic system flushing out toxins and waste
  • Prevention and elimination of headaches
  • Encouragement of deep sleep through the reduction of insomnia
  • Triggering brain chemicals that can reduce pain and induce a sense of well-being.
  •

Aromatherapy can benefit almost everyone, but it has been found to be particularly effective in helping stress-related disorders. A course of treatments can result in increased vitality and energy levels and an enhanced feeling of well-being.

This course is aimed at those who are new to therapies or would like to add a therapy to their existing list of treatments.  This is a 21 unit diploma which comes in two parts depending on your current skills level.

Units 1 - 12 are A&P based and these units are sent out to students who DO NOT have a current anatomy and physiology diploma and therefore they do not have a body massage certificate.

Units 13 - 21 are the aromatherapy units.  These are sent out to ALL students.

Upon booking you need to pay the correct price.  Price 1 is for students who DO NOT possess any previous experience.  Price 2 is for those who can prove that they have an A&P certificate and also a body massage certificate.

The units are home study.  This is all by EMAIL. You will then need to email your assignment back to your tutor and then upon passing that unit you will be emailed the next part.  This is NOT A PAPER BASED qualification all work is sent via EMAIL.
